Viewing System Resources

You can view system resources through the Windows NT Diagnostics
screen. Check what system resources are already used before adding
peripherals to avoid resource usage conflicts.
Click select
1. Start,
and click
(Common),
Diagnostics window opens.
Click a tab to see the information that you want:

shows the interrupt request lines assigned to devices in the
IRQ:
system. The IRQ is a hardware line that a device can use to send
signals to the processor when the device needs the processor's
services.

shows the input/output ports used by devices such as
I/O ports:
printers.
•
shows the direct memory access channels used by devices in
DMA:
the system. DMA channels enable devices to access memory
directly, instead of going through the processor to access memory.

Memory addresses:
allocated.

Installed devices:

Programs, Administrative Tools
Windows NT Diagnostics.
