2. Setting the RS–232 Echo Softkey
SCPI commands:
:SYSTem:COMMunicate:SERial:ECHO ON|OFF
:SYSTem:COMMunicate:SERial:ECHO?

3. Connect an RS–232 cable from the computer's serial connector to the ESG signal generator's
RS–232 connector or the PSG's AUXILIARY INTERFACE connector. Refer to Table 2-2 for RS–232 cable
information.

NOTE Any 9 pin (male) to 9 pin (female) straight–through cable that directly wires pins 2, 3, 5, 7,
and 8 may be used.

Toggle RS–232 Echo Off On until Off is
highlighted. Selecting On echoes or returns
characters sent to the signal generator and
prints them to the display.
