MOBILITY
If the charging cable is stowed in a bag, secure
the bag to an unused lashing eye in the lug-
gage compartment.
If necessary, store the charging cable with at-
tached plug cover to avoid moisture in the
charging cable plug.
Connecting a charging cable
General
Before connecting, clean the charging cable
plug and the area between the charging socket
flap and charging socket if necessary, e.g. re-
move snow.
Operating requirements
▷ Selector lever position P is engaged.
▷ Drive-ready state is switched off.
▷ Vehicle is unlocked.
▷ The parking brake is engaged.
Charging socket flap
The charging socket flap is located in the rear
on the right side of the vehicle.
Keep the high-voltage charging socket clean
and unobstructed.
If the charging socket is not being used, keep
the charging socket flap and the charging
socket cover closed.

Connecting a charging cable
When charging at a charging station, follow
the instructions at the charging station if nec-
essary.
1. To open the charging socket flap, press on
the rear edge, arrow.
The charging socket flap opens.
2. Open the charging socket flap.
3. Remove the cover from the charging cable
connector if necessary.
4. As applicable, connect the mode 2 charging
cable to the domestic socket outlet or the
mode 3 charging cable to the connection
point on the AC charging station.
5. Place the charging cable plug into the high-
voltage charging socket and press it in as
far as the limit position.
6. Hold the charging cable until the charging
cable is correctly locked.
Removing the charging cable
General
During the charging process, the charging ca-
ble is automatically locked. Unlock the charg-
ing cable before removing.
Before removing, clean the area between the
charging socket flap and the charging socket
outlet, for example to remove snow.
Removing a charging cable
1. Unlock vehicle or unlock charging cable via
iDrive.
