Connecting for Remote Control

The MediaPort 300 can be connected to a computer for configuration, control, and firmware
update (see
Configure the MediaPort 300 as desired, using PCS (see
Software
page 50).

Configuring Windows for MediaPort 300

NOTES:
The host PC or Mac OS device detects the MediaPort 300 and installs generic USB UVC
(universal video codec) and UAC (universal audio codec) drivers, a process known as
"enumerating", with the host PC in either of the following modes:

In this guide, the following steps are performed with the MediaPort 300 in the
default mode of enumerating as a Non-Echo Cancelling Speakerphone &
Webcam
.
If the MediaPort 300 is configured as an Echo Cancelling Speakerphone &
Webcam (when used with external DSP with AEC) the steps are the same. However,
Windows enumerates the MediaPort 300 as Echo Cancelling Speakerphone
not Speakerphone as shown in the following steps.
Non-Echo Cancelling Speakerphone & Webcam (default) — Sets the
MediaPort 300 to Speakerphone as described in this section.
Echo Cancelling Speakerphone & Webcam (using external DSP with AEC) — Sets
the unit to Echo-cancelling Speakerphone using the Hardware Settings screen.
Applicable when the MediaPort 300 is used with a DSP with AEC.
Connect a USB-C cable from the MediaPort 300 rear panel Host port to a USB port on
a Windows PC. The required drivers install automatically. A message notifies you when
driver installation is complete.
NOTE: Extron recommends connecting to a USB 3.x / SuperSpeed port to ensure
the best audio and video performance (see
recommendations.
On the Microsoft
Windows taskbar, right-click the speaker icon (see

page 24) and select Open Sound Settings (
