TP cable termination
The MediaPort 300 PoE+ port supports 1000Mbps (1000base T — Gigabit Ethernet),
half-duplex and full-duplex Ethernet connections. It is vital that your Ethernet cable be the
correct cable type and that it be properly terminated with the correct pinout. Ethernet links
use Category (CAT) 5e or CAT 6, unshielded twisted pair (UTP) or shielded twisted pair
(STP) cables, terminated with RJ-45 connectors. Ethernet cables are limited to a length of
328 feet (100 meters).
NOTES:
Do not use standard telephone cables. Telephone cables do not support Ethernet
or Fast Ethernet.
Do not stretch or bend cables. Transmission errors can occur.
The Ethernet cable must be terminated as a patch (straight-through) cable and must be
properly terminated in accordance with the TIA/EIA T568-B wiring standard (see figure 11).

NOTES:
The SIS over SSH port 22023 is enabled by default to send SIS commands via IP
over USB.
By default Telnet communication on TCP port 23 is disabled on the MediaPort 300.
You can enable Telnet over port 23 if Telnet is required for communication (such
as sending SIS commands and responses) between the MediaPort 300 and the
control system or PC. Connect the DSC directly to the PC and use SIS commands
to enable the port (see the
