Appendix A Self-Checking Program (SCP)

This section gives the procedure for using the self-checking program for the E1 and E20 in fault analysis.
A.1 Flow of Self-Checking
Install the emulator software.
Connect the user interface cable.
Connect the USB interface cable*.
Initiate the SCP for the E1 and E20.
Execute the TEST1 and TEST2 programs.
Disconnect the user interface cable.
Execute the TEST3 program.
View the results of self-checking.
Note:
Fault analysis of the hardware by using the self-checking program only works correctly when a single
emulator is connected to the host computer. When two or more emulators are connected, correct
operation is not guaranteed.

Install the SCP and USB driver for the E1 and E20 on the
host computer (this step is only required once).
Connect one end of the user-system interface connector to
the user-side connector and the other end to the self-
checking connector on the emulator (see Figure A.1).
Do not connect the USB interface connector yet.
Connect the host computer and the emulator via the USB
interface cable and turn on the power for the emulator.
E1: The supply of power starts when the USB interface
connector is connected.
E20: The supply of power starts when the power switch is
turned on after the USB interface cable has been
connected.
Initiate the SCP.
Execute the TEST1 and TEST2 programs.
Remove the cable from the self-checking connector.
Execute the TEST3 program.
If the results were normal, "PASS" will be displayed. If
checking indicated a failure, "FAIL" will be displayed.
In the case of "FAIL", a further error message is also given.
For the messages and their meanings, see Table A.1.
