Smoke Detection
Note
Smoke Detection is not supported when Day/Night Switch mode is Night or when the device
identifies the environment as night.
5. Optional: Go to Smart Event → Smoke Detection Shield . You can shield certain areas from
being detected in smoke detection, refer to Set Detection Shield Region .
6. Refer to Set Arming Schedule for setting scheduled time. Refer to Linkage Method Settings for
setting linkage method.
7. Click Save.

7.2.3 Set Dynamic Fire Source Detection

To avoid the potential fire damage, you can configure the fire detection function for certain areas.
The detail configuration steps show as below.
Before You Start
Go to Configuration → System → Maintenance → VCA Resource Type , select Temperature
Measurement + Perimeter Protection.
Parameter Description
Display a red frame around the fire source
on stream when fire occurs.
Sensitivity
The higher the value is, the more easily the
fire source of lower temperature can be
detected, and the higher the false alarm
rate is.
Display Smoke Source Frame on Stream
Display a red frame around the smoke
source on stream when smoke occurs.
Sensitivity
The higher the value is, the more easily the
smoke can be detected, and the higher the
false alarm rate is.
Verification Sensitivity
The higher the value is, the more quickly
the device can double-check and identify
the smoke, and the higher the false alarm
rate is.
