1. Remove the magazines from their packages.
2. Look closely at the magazines, and note the numbers embossed on the back of each
slot. Number 1 indicates the top of the magazine.
3. At the top of each magazine, on the outside, there is a colored label which indicates
the position it will take within the library.
Note:
Look inside your library to the niches where the magazines will be
installed. You may see color-coding above the rows of magazine niches at
the top of the library. This indicates where each magazine belongs. Do
not be concerned if your library does not contain color-coding; it is the
colors on the magazines themselves that are important.
4. While looking inside the library, take note of the side on which the highest of the
currently-installed magazines are positioned.
!
If the highest row of magazines is on the right, begin installing the new
magazines on the left (the same side as the E/E port).
- When installing on the left, start by installing the new magazines at the back
of the library then work your way toward the front.
!
If the rows of magazines are of equal height in the library, begin installing the
new magazines on the right, which is the same side as the drives.
- When installing on the right, start by installing the new magazines at the front
of the library then work your way toward the back.
Note:
If you are installing more than one set of magazines (more than 60 slots),
you will need to alternate using both of the above directions, moving
upward as you go. Just make sure to begin installing the magazines on the
correct side.
