    About Gator architecture Both the Spectra 12000 library and Spectra 64000 library utilize the Gator architecture for robotic tape libraries developed by Spectra Logic. Gator architecture in the Spectra 12000 library can be configured with 60 or 120 cartridges and from two to eight tape drives. Gator architecture in the Spectra 64000 library can be configured with up to 640 cartridges and 32 tape drives in a single rack.

  • Page 6: Prepare The Library

    Prepare the Library The Spectra 12000 fan assembly is a hot swappable part. You can replace the fan assembly without disabling the backup software or disconnecting the power. Make sure you have four feet of clearance at the back of the library.
  • Page 7: Remove The Old Fan Assembly

    Remove the Old Fan Assembly 1. Go to the back panel of the Spectra 12000 library. Use the #2 Phillips screwdriver to loosen the two captive screws (Figure 3). Captive screws Figure 3 Loosen the captive screws. 2. Pull the fan assembly out by the handle (Figure 4).
