MMR Modified Modified Read compression
MN Multi - National
Modem MOdulator/DEModulator. Hardware unit that converts the 'one' and 'zero'
binary values from the computer to two frequencies for transmission over
the public telephone network (modulation). It also converts the two fre-
quencies received from the telephone network to the binary values for
the computer (demodulation).
Moire Image quality defect caused by interference between patterned originals
and the digital imaging process. Moire patterns are repetitive and visible
as bands, plaids or other texture.
