Installing the roof cowl

An opening is made at a suitable position in the roof
to install the cowl� Make sure that there is no electrical
wiring (e�g� roof-mounted air conditioning unit) or roof
reinforcement struts in the vicinity of the opening�

Inform the vehicle manufacturer of the location of
any wiring or roof struts�
The distance between the centre of the opening and
side walls must be at least 55 mm or 60 mm�
Make an opening of 60 mm or 70 mm in diameter at
a suitable position in the roof�

If the roof has a double layer, line the cavity with
suitable heat-resistant material (Fig� 25-1)� This will
stiffen the roof so that it is not deformed when the
screws are tightened and remains watertight�

Sealing is done with the rubber seal (Fig� 25-2),
which is attached to the cowl� Do not use any other
sealant (silicone or the like)�
Insert the cowl through the roof opening from
above�
Tighten from the inside with the screwing ring
(Fig� 25-3)�
Secure the screwing ring with a screw (Fig� 25-4)�

2.10 Installing the exhaust gas system
CAUTION
Fire hazard / suffocation hazard
Risk of fire from overheating and/or risk of suffo-
cation from exhaust fumes if installed incorrect-
ly or if parts other than original Truma parts are
used for the exhaust gas system�
Use only original Truma parts for the exhaust
gas system�
Follow the installation instructions when in-
stalling the exhaust gas system�
CAUTION
Danger of cut injuries
Risk of cut injuries from sharp edges on the
exhaust duct�
Wear protective gloves during installation�
The heater is only tested and approved with these origi-
nal Truma parts�

2.10.1 Length and incline of exhaust duct
The exhaust duct with insulating duct must be ascend-
ing along its entire length, since otherwise a water
pocket may form that will prevent the exhaust gas from
exiting freely�

Practical tip: Use the duct cutting device AE3-5

(part no� 30030-08000) to shorten the exhaust duct�
The duct must be sawn off at right angles�
