Installation
2.4.1 Water supply
If a water supply is being installed in the vehicle, it must
be ensured that sufficient room is left between the

duct)
A water hose may only be routed at a distance of
15 m from the heater at the warm air duct With lead-
through, a spacer (eg insulation) must be fitted in
order to avoid contact The Truma hose clip SC can be
used for distances greater than 15 m
2.4.2 False floors
If a perforated drawer is installed over the heater that
is used for drying objects, for example, an intermediate
shelf made from non-coated wood must be installed
The covers of the mounting frame must be made from
temperature-resistant material Do not use PVC or simi-
lar material
The minimum depth l₁ and minimum height l₂ (Fig 4)

Making a cut-out in the floor

The bottom edges of the installation box and the heater
base must be on the same plane so that the control knob
is not too high or too low in the support
For problem-free and safe operation, it is important
for the heater to be positioned in accordance with the
enclosed installation template The figures show the
template for the S 3004 by way of example Use the
corresponding template for installing the S 5004

Using the installation template, check whether the
floor cut-out for the combustion air intake should be
on the left or the right
R = Right-hand installation (Fig 5)
L = Left-hand installation (Fig 6)
Attach the installation template to the floor of the
installation cut-out for the installation box using ad-

Check the area around the planned cut-out in or
beneath the floor to make sure there are no supply
lines (gas, diesel, electricity, water pipelines, etc)
or chassis parts (wheel arch, crossmembers, brake
lines, water tanks, etc) Change the planned instal-
lation location if necessary, move lines or remove
l
obstacles
Check the position of the roof cowl and the length
of the cowl pipe See the Chapter "Installing the
roof cowl" and change the installation position if
necessary
Use a graver to prepare the 5 points for the fasten-
ing screws (R or L)
Transfer the corner points of the rectangular cut-out
to the floor using a graver
Remove the template
Transfer the rectangular cut-out to the floor To do
this, use a pencil and ruler to connect the insertion
points to the corner points of the cut-out
Saw out the floor cut-out as precisely as possible
Do not saw out too large an area so that the frame
halves can be screwed down into the floor later
Seal interfaces to prevent moisture penetration and
allow them to dry completely Do not use flammable
or heat-sensitive materials for the seal
Pretension the frame halves (Fig 7-1) by bending
open the legs so that the frame sits properly in the
floor cut-out
Insert the frame halves (Fig 7-1) into the floor cut-
out (Fig 7-3) The frame legs overlap slightly
