2.10.2 Connecting the exhaust duct to the heater
Prepare the cowl: Slide the duct (Fig� 30-1) over the
exhaust duct (Fig� 30-2)� The duct must reach from the
cowl through to the rear wall of the installation box�
The exhaust duct can be secured first to the heater or
cowl�
CAUTION
Suffocation hazard
Used seals can cause leaking in the exhaust gas
system�
A new form ring must be fitted following
every removal�
Bend the exhaust duct according to the installation
situation� The end of the duct must be straight for
at least 2 cm and must not be bent in this area� The
duct bender AE (part no� 30030-33000), which is
available as an accessory, can be used for this pur-
pose to bend the exhaust duct (Fig� 27)�

Slide the sealing plate (Fig� 28-2) onto the duct by
about 3 cm (Fig� 28-1)� The claw of the sealing plate
points towards the exhaust duct connection on the
heater�
Slide on pressure ring (Fig� 28-3)�
Carefully guide the form ring (Fig� 28-4) over the cut
edge of the duct by expanding it� Make sure to avoid
damaging the form ring� The angled side of the form
ring points towards the exhaust duct connection
(Fig� 28-5) on the heater�

Insert the exhaust duct as far as it will go into the ex-
haust duct connection (S 3004) or exhaust collector
(S 5004)�
Slide the form ring onto the exhaust duct connec-
tion / exhaust collector and press into the groove�
Slide the pressure ring and sealing plate onto the
form ring�

Hook the sealing plate on the lugs of the exhaust
duct connection on both sides and rotate to the stop
position�
Hold the sealing plate in position (Fig� 29-1) and
tighten the screw (Fig� 29-2)�
Check that the exhaust duct is fitted securely by
gently pulling the exhaust duct�

Route ducts upwards against the wall with as little
bending as possible� Ducts must be laid rising along
their entire length�
Slide exhaust duct (Fig� 30-2) into the cowl as far
as it will go and secure with the self-tapping screw
(3�5 mm x 16 mm) (Fig� 30-3)�
Permanently fit the ducts to the wall using several
clamps (Fig� 30-4) and (Fig� 30-5)�
