Measuring ranges for gases
The full scale values depend on the density of the gas.
Use the formula below to calculate the full scale values:
⋅ ρ
g
= g
/ x [kg/m

(G)
g
= Max. full scale value for gas [kg/h]
max(G)
g
= Max. full scale value for liquid [kg/h]
max(F)
ρ
= Gas density in [kg/m
(G)
Here, g
can never be greater than g

Calculation example for gas
• Device: Promass F, DN 50
• Gas: air with a density of 60.3 kg/m
• Measuring range: 70000 kg/h
• x = 90 (for Promass F DN 50)
Max. possible full scale value:
· ρ
g
= g
÷ x [kg/m³] = 70000 kg/h · 60.3 kg/m³ ÷ 90 kg/m³ = 46900 kg/h
