Overview

This machine has several operation modes for the service technician to perform the service work.
Mode name

Fixed IP mode

The mode to change the IP address of this
machine to the specified address so that the
machine can be accessed easily when con-
necting the devices like a PC for servicing.
Download mode
Used when downloading firmware to this
machine. Storage initialization can also be
executed.
Main Controller
Used to check whether the failure is occur-
self diagnosis

MEAP safe mode Start the machine without starting up MEAP
applications. Used when MEAP Applications
are causing the machine's malfunctioning.
Fixed IP Mode
In this mode, the network setting of this machine is set to the specific IP address (172.16.1.100) and subnet (255.255.255.0).
You can use this mode when using remote UI or SMS with the machine that does not have a network set up or cannot change
the network setting.
This mode can reduce the amount of time spent on changing the machine's network setting and also helps avoid forgetting to
change back the setting.
You can enter Fixed IP Mode from the power OFF state or from the service mode with the power turned ON.
When Fixed IP Mode is enabled, these settings for the machine change as follows. (Turning the power OFF change back the
settings.)

Personal firewall
When [Wireless LAN] is enabled, [Wired LAN] becomes enabled and an IP address and subnet mask are set for main-line wired
LAN.
■ Procedure to Enter Fixed IP Mode from Power OFF State (for Models with Hard
Keys)
Procedure for the machine to enter the fixed IP mode from power-off state is as follows.

• Start the machine while
pressing "1" and "7" on the
numeric keypad of the
Control Panel.
• Execute the service mode
while the machine is at op-
eration.
• Start the machine while
pressing "1" and "7" on the
numeric keypad.
• Execute the service mode
while the machine is at op-
eration.
Start the machine while press-
ing "2" and "4" on the numeric
keypad.
Execute the service mode while the machine is at operation.

Startup procedure
Models without hard keys
• Turn ON the power while press-
ing the hidden hard key 1 at the
back side of the Control Panel.
• Execute the service mode while
the machine is at operation.
• Turn ON the power while press-
ing the hidden hard key 1 and 3
at the back side of the Control
Panel.
• Execute the service mode while
the machine is at operation.
Turn ON the power while pressing the
hidden hard key 3 at the back side of
the Control Panel.
