3.2.2 System Power Supply

The WAGO I/O System 750 XTR requires an uninterruptible 24 VDC power supply for the
system electronics. The system power supply is a requirement for operation of the local
bus and thus for all electronic functions of the node. Furthermore, without a system power
supply, no diagnostic functionality is available either.
Power is supplied via the head station and, if required, via "System Power Supply
24 VDC XTR (item no.: ü 750-613/040-000)" system power supply units in addition.
The power supply is protected against reverse polarity.
Do not connect any prohibited voltage or frequency values, since doing so may destroy
the module.
The supplied 24 VDC powers all system-internal components, e.g., the head station elec-
tronics, the fieldbus interface and the I/O modules, via the local bus (5 V system voltage.
The 5 V system voltage is galvanically connected to the 24 V system power supply.
Observe the following system power supply requirements:
• Use voltage sources with safety extra-low voltage (SELV, PELV).
Power must be supplied simultaneously to all system power supply units. WAGO
recommends using the same voltage source to supply the power.
• Be sure that the maximum permissible current values are not exceeded.
• Use an external fuse to protect each system power supply.
Without overcurrent protection, the electronics can be damaged. If you implement the
overcurrent protection for the system power supply with a fuse, a max. 2 A time-delay
fuse should be used.
