Power-assisted steering pump pressure: Check

K4M – K9K, and STANDARD HEATING RECIRCULATION

a Position the vehicle on a two-post lift (see Vehicle:
Towing and lifting) (02A, Lifting equipment).
a Remove the engine undertray.
a Fit a hose clamp on the power-assisted steering
pump oil inlet pipe to restrict the flow.

Note:
Protect the alternator from escaping power
assisted steering fluid.

a Disconnect the pressure switch connector.
a Remove the pressostat.
a Fit thein place of the pressostat (1) .
a Connect theto the.
K9K
12 N.m
21 N.m
a Remove the high pressure pipe union mounting from
the power-assisted steering pump outlet.
a Fit the (2) between the power-assisted steering
pump and the power-assisted steering pump outlet
high pressure union.
a Connect the (3) and theto the.
a Remove the hose clamp.
a Lower the vehicle.
a Fill the power-assisted steering circuit with ELF
RENAULT MATIC D2 oil (see Vehicle: Parts and
consumables for the repair) (04B, Consumables -
Products).
a Bleed the circuit by turning the steering wheel from
lock to lock with the engine switched off in the first in-
stance.
WARNING
To avoid damaging the power-assisted steering
system, do not keep the steering at full lock.
a Set the vehicle wheels straight ahead.
a Bleed the circuit by turning the steering wheel from

lock to lock with the engine running.
a Top up the fluid in the reservoir.
a Remove:
- the front right-hand wheel arch liner (see Front
wheel arch liner: Removal - Refitting) (55A, Ex-
terior protection),
- the front right-hand wheel (see 35A, Wheels and
tyres, Wheel: Removal - Refitting, page 35A-1) .
