2.2 Overview of the Front

This section provides an overview of the front of the system:

The faceplate covers the hard disk tray. If you need ac-
cess to one of the hard disks, for example, to replace it,
it can be removed. The faceplate will be described in
more detail in section "Faceplate" on page 2-4.
The hard disk tray contains the main storage hard disks
which can be used to store video, audio or backup ma-
terial. All disks can be replaced easily in case of failure.
The disk array is described in more detail in section
"Hard Disk Tray" on page 2-6.
The display is illuminated and shows an R&S logo when
the system is operating properly. Furthermore, you find
the system's IP address below the R&S logo. In case of
a hardware failure, the display shows a red warning/
alarm icon to inform you about this. In addition, an
alarm signal might be sounded, depending on the kind
of hardware failure, that can be switched mute using
the mute button.


