Press ▲ to select [Flash Memory Setup], and press «OK».

Select [Initialize] or [Format Partition], and press «OK».

To initialize it, check that [Execute] is selected, and press «OK».
To format partition, select the partition to be formatted, and press «OK».
There are two methods to initialize a memory
 [Initialize]: Initializes the open area range (displayed in the file list) of the flash memory.
 [Format Partition]: Initializes the user information. You can format each partition of PCL/Common/PS.

When [Are you sure?] is displayed, select [Yes] and press «OK».
To cancel the initialization, select [No] instead.

When [Execute Now?] is displayed, select [Yes] and press «OK».
This machine restarts and the memory will be initialized.
When [Execute Now?] is displayed and you select [No], the display will return to [Flash Memory Setup], but the
initialization will not be canceled. Initialization will be done the next time the power is turned on.

Initializing settings of this machine

Restores settings of this machine to the factory default settings.
 Initialization of settings of this machine will return the following data to the default factory settings.
[Menus] settings
[Admin Setup] settings
[Calibration] settings

Check that "Ready To Print" appears on the display.
If the machine is in the power save mode, press «POWER SAVE» to restore.

Press the scroll button ▼ on the operator panel several times to select [Admin Setup], and
press «OK».

Input the admin password using the numeric keypad, and press «OK».

Press ▲ several times to select [Settings], and press «OK».

Check that [Reset Settings] is selected, and press «OK».

Check that [Execute] is selected, and press «OK».
This machine restarts and the settings will be initialized.
