Enclosure variants
The RealStor 2U chassis can be configured as a controller enclosure (5005, 4005) or an expansion enclosure
(J1212/J1224) as shown in

Enclosure core product
The design concept is based on an enclosure subsystem together with a set of plug-in modules. A typical enclosure
system—as supplied—includes the following:

An enclosure chassis which includes the midplane PCB and an integral operator's (Ops) panel that is mounted on the
left ear flange at the front of the enclosure.
•
Two 580W, 100–240V AC power cooling modules. See also

Two IOMs: 2 x SBB-compliant interface slots.
•
Up to 24 disk drive modules. Where appropriate the disk drive carriers will include an Interposer card. See also

A rail kit for rack mounting.
NOTE: The module quantities quoted above are the maximum that a 2U24 enclosure can support. The following
figures show component locations relative to 2U enclosure front and rear panels.
