System power consumption

The system power consumption of the router depends on the type and number of cards and the fan
tray power consumption.
The minimum system power consumption is the total static power consumption of all cards plus
the minimum fan tray power consumption. For example, for a CR16010-F (one fan tray) router
that has two CSR05SRP1L1 MPUs, two CSPC-XP4LB service modules, two CSFC-08B
switching fabric modules, and one fan tray, the minimum system power consumption of the
router is 2 × 46 + 2 × 53 + 2 × 44 + 13 = 299 W.
The maximum system power consumption is the total dynamic power consumption of all cards
plus the maximum fan tray power consumption. For example, for a CR16010-F (one fan tray)
router that has two CSR05SRP1L1 MPUs, two CSPC-XP4LB service modules, two CSFC-08B
switching fabric modules, and one fan tray, the maximum system power consumption of the
router is 2 × 53 + 2 × 80 + 2 × 60 + 300 = 686 W.

Heat dissipation

Heat dissipation is measured in BTU/h, and 1 W equals 3.4121 BTU/h.
The heat dissipation of a router depends on its power consumption. To calculate heat dissipation of
the router, assume 90% power consumption is converted to heat, and the efficiency of the power
supply is 90%. Heat dissipation/hour of the router is 0.9 × (total power consumption of the cards plus
power consumption of the fan tray)/0.9 × 3.4121.
