PROBLEM
Engine will not start and/or run
EIC will not read monitored circuits
SECTION 55 - ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
POSSIBLE CAUSE
Seat belt unbuckled
Incorrect engine configuration
(EIC)
No battery voltage to start relay
No battery voltage from EIC to
fuel solenoid
Open in the W/O wire from the
seat/seat belt plug to the start
interlock relay
Inoperative start interlock relay
Fuel solenoid inoperative
Inoperative
manifold
system
No power to manifold heater
Inoperative manifold heater
No fuel to manifold heater
Incorrect engine configuration
Open or short in wire from sensor
to EIC
Faulty sender or sensor

CORRECTION
Buckle seat belt
Correct configuration
Open in power wire from key switch
"start" to relay, or through seat/seat
belt circuits to relay, repair open
Open in power wire from EIC to fuel
solenoid, repair open
Repair open in W/O wire
Repair or replace
Repair or replace fuel solenoid
heater
Incorrect
engine

Manifold heater preheat relay or
LTBL/B wire open, repair or replace
Circuit breaker open, replace
Replace manifold heater
Check fuel feed tube and fuel supply
from injection pump
Correct engine configuration
Repair open/short
Repair/replace sender or sensor
