    Outline and Configuration Outline IonFocus Unit, an ionization unit for NX series, is a heat-assisted ESI unit with ion transport electrodes installed to it. The ion transport electrodes enable efficiently introducing only ions into the mass spectrometer, achieving high sensitivity and high durability simultaneously.

    5.2 Maintenance of the IonFocus ESI Unit 5.2.1 Replacing the Tubing A high voltage (up to 5 kV) is applied to the sample solution sprayed from the tip of the capillary ASSY in order to ionize the sample. If the fine capillary ASSY tubing becomes blocked due to very small particles of contamination that get into the mobile phase or the sample, it may lead to a rise in the pump pressure.
