This instrument switches the communicating ports by rotating a rotor component with a channel groove. FCV-S CL is a unit for controlling one flow channel selection valve. The flow line can be switched by using the operation buttons on the front side of the unit.

Parts Identification and Function FCV-S CL 2.1.1 Front Name Description Use this panel to view flow line positions and perform operations. When the flow channel selection valve is inserted all the way, the locks on the valve mount of the FCV-S CL engage and keep the valve in place. The illustration below shows the completed FCV-S CL after installing the flow channel selection valve.

Insert the supplied waste liquid tube (A) into the drain port located at the lower right corner on the front side of the equipment.
3.3 Turning On the Equipment Turning On the Equipment Turn on the power switch (A) located on the back side of FCV-S CL. Both LED indicators (Link LED and Error LED) on the operation panel light up, and the home position seeking for the flow channel selection valve starts.
Turn off the power switch located on the back side of FCV-S CL. Using the FCV-S CL with Manual Operation The FCV-S CL can be manually operated using the buttons on the operation panel. This section explains the settings for using the FCV-S CL with manual operation without connecting to other equipment.
The FCV-S CL can both be remotely controlled by autosampler SIL-40 CL series. When the instrument connected to the FCV-S CL is also connected to an CBM-40, a link check error occurs if the link check function is enabled. It is not a problem to clear the error and proceed.
When multiple FCV-S CL units are connected 3.6.3 Controlling the FCV-S CL in Remote Mode This section explains the procedure for controlling the FCV-S CL in remote mode. Turn off the power to the autosampler and to the FCV-S CL.

3 Operation 3.6.5 Setting the Control ID To remote-control the FCV-S CL from autosampler SIL-40 CL series, you need to allocate a unique control ID to each driving unit FCV-DR. (Control ID that is not duplicated with another FCV-DR) Before starting control in remote mode, follow the steps below to check and set the control IDs.

When setting a control ID, make sure that the number is not already used by another optional unit. Press the [CE] key again. You will hear a beep and see the flow line position on the display panel. FCV-S CL...
3.7.2 Shutting Down the Equipment This section explains how to shut down the FCV-S CL that is remote-controlled by autosampler SIL-40 CL series. Make sure that the FCV-S CL is remotely connected with autosampler SIL-40 CL series.
For the procedure to shut down from autosampler SIL-40 CL series, refer to the instruction manual for the respective instrument controlling the FCV-S CL. The display panel and all LED indicators light up on the FCV-S CL and the home position seeking starts for the flow channel selection valve.
