Your handheld dials your voice mail access number. Follow the prompts to listen
to your messages.
Note: If your SIM card is provisioned for voice mail and a new voice mail message is
received, a dialog box appears on the screen. In addition, the Call Voice Mail menu
item appears on the menu of all handheld applications, and the voice mail icon appears
in the handheld status section of the screen.
To call your handheld voice mail, you can place a phone call to your handheld's phone
number. You are directed to your voice mail automatically. The first time you call your
voice mail, you must set up your voice mail account.
To edit your voice mail access number
If you want to call an alternate voice mail system, you can edit the voice mail
access number manually.
1. On the Home screen, click the Phone icon. The Phone screen appears.
2. Click the trackwheel to view the menu. Click Options. The Phone Options
screen appears.
3. Click Voice Mail. The Voice Mail screen appears.
4. In the Access Number field, delete the voice mail access number (if one
appears) and type the number that your handheld should dial to gain access
to your voice mail.
5. In the Additional Numbers field, type any additional numbers for your voice
mail, such as a password.
6. Click the trackwheel to view the menu. Click Save.
You return to the Phone Options screen.
Setting the TTY option (TTY)
Depending on your Nextel service plan, text telephone (TTY) might not be
available on your handheld. If you have a text telephone device and TTY is
available, you can place and receive phone calls to and from other text telephone
devices. Connect your handheld to a standard TTY device that operates at 45.45
bps. Your handheld does not support TTY devices that operate at 50 bps.
To use the TTY device with your handheld, insert the TTY connector into the
headset jack on the side of your handheld. If you use an RJ-11 connector, you must
use an adaptor to connect the TTY device to your handheld.
