You can also set smart dialing options for corporate extensions. If you call a
corporation frequently, you can set your smart dialing options so that you do not
have to type the main number for the corporation. To call a contact in the
corporation, you only need to type x and the extension number.
Note: Depending on your location, the smart dialing fields might appear differently on
your handheld. Contact Nextel Customer Care for more information.
To set general smart dialing options
1. On the Home screen, click the Phone icon. The Phone screen appears.
2. Click the trackwheel to view the menu. Click Options. The Phone Options
screen appears.
3. Click Smart Dialing. The Smart Dialing screen appears. You can set your
country code, area code, and specify the value for your national number
length.
Note: The default phone number length that you type in the National Number Length
field specifies the default length for phone numbers in your current country. This value
includes your area code and local number, but does not include your country code or
your National Direct Dialing prefix. When you type your area code, do not include your
National Direct Dialing prefix.
4. Click the trackwheel to view the menu. Click Save.
You return to the Phone Options screen.
To set corporate smart dialing options
1. On the Home screen, click the Phone icon. The Phone screen appears.
2. Click the trackwheel to view the menu. Click Options. The Phone Options
screen appears.
3. Click Smart Dialing. The Smart Dialing screen appears. In the Call field, type
the main number of a corporation that you call frequently.
Note: If you have set general smart dialing options, you do not need to specify an area or
country code.
4. In the Wait For fields, press the Space key until the preferred option appears.
