Note: Depending on your Nextel service plan, some Phone options might not be
available on your handheld. Contact Nextel Customer Care for more information on
available services.
Customizing Nextel Direct Connect options
On the Direct Connect screen of the Phone options, you can customize the
following options:
Phone Only: Select whether you want to use only the Phone application on
your handheld. By default, this option is set to No. If you set this field to Yes,
you can place and answer phone calls and receive SMS messages, but you
cannot send and receive email and PIN messages, place and answer Nextel
Direct Connect calls, or browse web pages.
Note: If you set the Phone Only field to Yes, the wireless coverage indicator in the
handheld status section of the screen changes to Nxtl.
Silence Call Alerts: Select whether you want to silence incoming Call Alerts.
By default, this option is set to No. If you set this field to Yes, your handheld
will ignore incoming Call Alerts.
Silence Private Calls: Select whether you want to silence incoming Private
Calls. By default, this option is set to No. If you set this field to Yes, your
handheld will ignore incoming Private Calls.
Silence Group Calls: Select whether you want to silence incoming Group
Calls. By default, this option is set to No. If you set this field to Yes, your
handheld will ignore incoming Group Calls.
Current Talkgroup: Set your current talkgroup.
Current Talkgroup Area: Set your current talkgroup area. If you select Local
Area, you can communicate with talkgroup members who are currently in the
