To dial corporate extensions
If you regularly call contacts at the same company with different extensions, you
can configure your handheld's Smart Dialing screen so that you only need to dial
the extension. When you type x, followed by the extension number, the handheld
automatically dials the company's main phone number as you have set it on the
Smart Dialing screen. After a brief period of time, the extension is dialed. Refer to
"To set corporate smart dialing options" on page 138 for more information on
configuring this option.
To use the Plus Dialing feature
If your service plan is enabled for international dialing, you can use the Plus
Dialing feature to place an international call. To use the Plus Dialing feature, type
a plus sign (+) before the country code, city code, or area code of a contact's phone
number in the Address Book or in the Phone Number/DCID dialog box when
placing one-time calls. If a phone number link with a plus sign appears in your
messages or in one of the handheld's other applications, you can click the link to
place an international call.
Note: The Nextel wireless network translates the plus sign (+) into the appropriate
international access code needed to place the international phone call.

Setting the volume

While you are connected to a call, roll the trackwheel to change the volume for
your handheld's Phone application. Scroll up to increase the call's volume or
scroll down to decrease the volume. The volume level that you set is used for all
Phone applications.
Note: If you are working in one of the handheld's other applications while you are
connected to a phone call and you want to change the volume for the Phone
application, click the trackwheel to view the menu. Click Volume. The volume indicator
appears. Roll the trackwheel to increase or decrease the volume.

Putting phone calls on hold

After you have placed or received a phone call, you can put it on hold.
