5.4.7 Sequence of Events (SOE) File

The M87x creates a record, in chronological order, of all events that occur, including:
Triggers
Health Check status errors
Change of state of status inputs and outputs
Creation of files
Change of configuration
Setting of clock
Record of Boot up
The SOE.LOG file is an ASCII text format file, and typically can be up to 5000 lines.

5.4.8 Sequence of Events Recorder (SER) File

In addition to the SOE file mentioned above, the M87x creates a SER log in .csv format for
compliance with one portion of the NERC PRC-002-2 standard. Following is a summary of
what is included:
A. File Name: SERLOG.CSV
B. File Type: comma separated variable (ASCII)
C. The following single input types are automatically logged to the SERLOG.CSV file if
the "Soe Entry" field is selected on the Recorder Triggers page:
1. Digital Inputs
2. Virtual Inputs
3. GOOSE Inputs
D. One log entry per line where each line is comprised of the following fields:
1. line number
2. date
3. time (rounded to the nearest millisecond)
4. local time code (currently unimplemented, always reads as zero)
5. Substation name (populated with "Station Name" field on Identity page)
6. Device name (populated with "User Defined Measurement Name" on the
User Defined Measurement Names page. The Default Measurement Name
will be used if no User defined name exists)
7. State (populated with "SOE Message field" from the Triggers page
associated with the specific trigger point. If no SOE Message is specified
then the field will be populated with "0" for trigger with "value" field set to 0,
and "1" for triggers with "value" field set to 1)
