Unit Test

Run a unit test to check if there is any error in the IO-Link module.
Operating procedure
• If the unit test is not completed, check the operating procedure and run the test again.
• If the unit test result is abnormal, the IO-Link module hardware may be in failure. Please consult your local
Mitsubishi representative.

11.2 Unit Test
1.
First, run an internal test. Power off the IO-Link module, and disconnect the cables
from the communication connectors. (When the cables are not disconnected, the test
result may be abnormal.)
2.
Power on the IO-Link module.

Press the [SEL.] button on the module information window of the main menu, and
select the unit test window.
4.
Press and hold the [SET] button on the unit test window to start the internal test.
5.
The internal test starts automatically. Check the test result in the following way.
• If the test result is normal
The DISPLAY1 LED and DISPLAY2 LED are on in green.
• If the test result is abnormal
The DISPLAY1 LED and DISPLAY2 LED are on in red.

Next, run an external test. Connect a cable between the IO-Link module
communication connectors P1 and P2.
7.
Press the [SEL.] button to start the external test. (The external test will not start if there
is no cable connected between P1 and P2.)
8.
The external test starts automatically. Check the test result in the following way.
• If the test result is normal
The DISPLAY1 LED and DISPLAY2 LED are on in green.
• If the test result is abnormal
The DISPLAY1 LED and DISPLAY2 LED are on in red.
9.
Press the [SEL.] button to terminate the unit test. The IO-Link module will restart
automatically when the unit test ends.
