Ensure the sensing units are parallel and in the plane
perpendicular to the beams.
Ensure the correct angular alignment of the sensing units.

Ensure the relative height of the sensing units is the same.
For small scanning distances, the optical alignment of the
sensing units can be carried out easily and quickly using a
ruler.
