The pump has detected
sustained negative
pressure on its proximal
side.

This is a normal response
when:
• The pump has been
powered on with only
disposable batteries as
a power source; or
• The pump has switched
to internal power
(disposable batteries)
due to a loss of external
power or a reduction in
external power below
acceptable levels.
Troubleshooting
Cause/
Remedy
1. Press [SILENCE] to
quiet the alarm for 1
minute.
2. Press [STOP] to place
the pump in the stop
mode.
3. Check for sources of
proximal occlusion:
Þ Kinked tubing above
pump
Þ Blockage in the bag
and in the spike
Þ Empty bag
Þ High torque syringe
Þ Other obstructions
4. If the problem persists,
clamp the distal line
and reinstall the
cassette. Refer to
Loading the Cassette in
the "System Setup"
section. If the alarm
still persists, power-off
the pump. Clamp the
distal line, then
power-on the pump.
5. Press [START] to begin
delivery.
When powering on the
pump:
• Press [YES/ENTER] to
confirm disposable
batteries are the only
power source.
When switching from AC
mains:
• Press [SILENCE] to
clear the alarm.
