ID
is an immediate command that sends a special identification packet. The

When is OFF, lower case characters in received data are changed to upper case before being
sent to your terminal. The characters you type into the keyboard and their echoes are not
changed.
If your computer or terminal cannot display lower case characters, it may react badly if the PK-232
sends lower case characters to it.
