DWAIT

Mode: Packet
n
Parameters:
-
DWAIT
helps to avoid collisions with digipeated packets.
Unless the PK-232 is waiting to transmit digipeated packets,
after last hearing data on the channel, for the duration of the
begins its transmitter keyup sequence.
Where ever possible, the value of DWAIT should be agreed on by all stations in a local area when
digipeaters are used in the area. The best value will be determined by experimenting.
DWAIT
is necessary because digipeated packets are not retried by the digipeater, but are always
restarted by the originating station. When all stations specify a Default Wait time and the right val-
ue of
n
is chosen, the digipeater captures the frequency every time it has data to send - dig-
ipeated packets are sent without this delay.
