Pump

FAULT
Liquid leaks from the bottom of the pump.
Grease leaks from the bottom of the pump.
Grease leaks from the shaft grease seals.
Lack of pressure.
Vibrations in system and unpleasant noise from the
pump.
Lack of flow / capacity.
Extreme internal erosion on diaphragm covers and
housing.
Short lifetime for diaphragm.

Hydraulic System, Y-version

FAULT
Boom slow/erratic.
Ram not functioning.
Hydraulic system fold/tilt functions will not operate. Power supply.
One function (fold or tilt) will not operate.
Multiple hydraulic functions with one switch
activated.
PROBABLE CAUSE
Damaged diaphragm.
Grease used has too low viscosity.
Grease used has too low viscosity.
Bearings worn or too high friction.
Pump valves clogged or defect.
Clogged filters in fluid system.
Pump valves clogged or defect.
Air sucked into the liquid system.
Internal wear on conrod and conrod ring.
Pump valves clogged or defect.
Too high vacuum caused by clogged suction filter or
excessive pump speed (rpm).
Lack of internal cleaning.
Lack of conservation of the fluid system during
storage.
Over-speeding of the pump.
Too high vacuum when filling from external source:
Hose dimension is too small.
Too long filling hose.
Bad filling conditions, e.g. too high water column
when transferring water from a buried tank.
PROBABLE CAUSE
Air in the system.
Regulation valve incorrectly set.
Insufficient hydraulic pressure.
Insufficient amount of oil in tractor reservoir.
Restrictor or regulation valve blocked.
Various.

CONTROL / REMEDY
Replace diaphragm.
Change to recommended grease type.
Change to recommended grease type.
Replace pump bearings and grease seals.
Check for obstructions or, if needed, replace valves.
Clean filters.
Check for obstructions or, if needed, replace valves.
Check for leaks, pinholes in suction hoses, tightness /
gaskets / O-rings of all fittings on the suction side.
Poor greasing. Replace parts as needed and observe
proper grease quality and intervals.
Check for obstructions or, if needed, replace valves.
Replace affected pump parts.
Clean suction filter and observe maximum pump
speed (rpm).
Use recommended cleaning procedures and add
extra cleaning agents (e.g. AllClearExtra or similar).
Always use a proper mixture of antifreeze during
storage.
Observe maximum pump speed (rpm).
Fit a larger hose to the External Filling Device.
Park sprayer closer to the external tank and use a
shorter hose.
Change external water supply to obtain a lower
water column.
CONTROL/REMEDY
Loosen ram connection and activate hydraulics until
oil flow has no air in it (no bubbles or milky look).
Open or close until desired speed is achieved
(turning clockwise = less speed).
Remember oil must be at operating temperature.
Check output pressure of tractor hydraulics.
Minimum for sprayer is 170 bar.
Check and fill if needed.
Secure boom. Dismantle and clean.
Check for proper 12 V power supply.
Check for defective switches.
Check continuity of cables.
Check for operation of applicable solenoid (coil not
activating or plunger stuck).
Check for short circuit in wiring junction box at rear
of sprayer.
Dirt in the restrictor port of the cylinder.
Check for correct solenoid electric/hydraulic hook-
up.
Check for short circuit in wiring in the junction box at
rear of sprayer.
