7.3 Disassembly and transport

Crushing, pinching due to incorrect handling
► When folding the back support up or down, grasp only the specified components.
NOTICE
Deformation when folded
Damage to the product, problems unfolding due to unallowable loads
► Never place heavy objects on the folded product.
The seating unit has to be detached from the outdoor mobility base for transport (see page 13).
The instructions for use for the Kimba outdoor mobility bases (reference number: 647H1655=*) explain how to fold
up and unfold the outdoor mobility base.

7.4 Use in vehicles for transporting persons with reduced mobility

7.4.1 General safety instructions

WARNING
Use as a seat in vehicles for transporting persons with reduced mobility
Serious injuries in case of accidents due to user error
► Always use the seats and personal restraint systems installed in the vehicle for transporting persons with
reduced mobility first. This is the only way to ensure optimum protection of passengers in the event of an acci­
dent.
► The product was tested for use in a vehicle for transporting persons with reduced mobility in combination with
the Kimba outdoor mobility base.
► If the product is to be used as a seat in a vehicle for transporting persons with reduced mobility, the safety
elements offered by the manufacturer and appropriate fastening and personal restraint systems must be used.

► Never transport more than one person in the product.
► The product may be used in vehicles for transporting persons with reduced mobility only with the seat facing
in the direction of travel.
► The product may be used in vehicles for transporting persons with reduced mobility only with the seating unit
locked horizontally and the back support locked in the upright position.
► Please note that you must always remove certain options before using the product in a vehicle for transporting
persons with reduced mobility (see page 42).
WARNING
Incorrect transport weight during use in vehicles for transporting persons with reduced mobility
Serious injuries in case of accidents due to exceeding the allowable load
► The maximum user weight in the Kimba seating unit is limited to 40 kg during use in a vehicle for transporting
persons with reduced mobility.
WARNING
Use of the belt system as a passenger restraint system in vehicles for transporting persons with reduced
mobility is forbidden
Serious injuries due to improper handling of the product
► Under no circumstances may the belts and positioning aids offered with the product be used as part of a pas­
senger restraint system in vehicles for transporting persons with reduced mobility.
► Note that the belts and positioning aids offered with the product are only intended to help support the user sit­
ting in the product.
