7.2.3 Positioning aids

WARNING
Using the belt system or positioning aid as a passenger restraint system in vehicles for transporting per­
sons with reduced mobility is prohibited
Serious injuries due to improper handling of the product
► Under no circumstances may the belts and positioning aids that come with the product be used as part of a
passenger restraint system in vehicles for transporting persons with reduced mobility.
► Note that the belts and positioning aids that come with the product are intended only as additional support for
the user sitting in the product.
WARNING
Incorrect application of the belt system/positioning aid
Strangulation, suffocation due to incorrectly placed positioning belts/positioning aids
► Follow the instructions for proper application so that the user cannot slip into a position that would endanger
him or her.
► Note that the user's back must be up against the back support pad when securing the belt system/positioning
aid and during use of the product.
► Do not use positioning belts or positioning aids if the user is able to sit without them.
The option has been installed and preset by qualified personnel. If the option has been adjusted too tightly or can­
not be engaged, the positioning belt can be subsequently adjusted as needed.
The seating unit can be equipped with positioning systems.

7.2.3.1 Thoracic supports (lateral supports)

The seating unit can be equipped with thoracic pads that provide additional support to the upper body for certain
indications (standard thoracic pad: see fig. 48; folding thoracic pad: see fig. 49).
The option has been preset by qualified personnel.
Folding the thoracic pads (folding thoracic support version only)
These pads can be folded outwards to make getting in and out of the wheelchair easier:
1) Push the red release button (see fig. 49).
INFORMATION: Depending on the installation, the red release button may point either downwards or
upwards.
2) Push the pad outwards.
3) After getting in or out, move the pad back until it engages.
