8.6 Control unit

CAUTION
Risk of uncontrolled driving behaviour
Falling, tipping, collision with persons or nearby objects due to interference from electromagnetic fields
► Switch all mobile devices off while driving.
► Turn the control unit off when it is not needed.
The power wheelchair is controlled by an enAble50 control device.
Because the control unit is programmable, it can be adapted to the personal requirements of the user; e.g. the
speed, acceleration and deceleration values can all be adapted.

8.6.1 Control panel

The power wheelchair is operated using the control panel.
The control panel consists of a button section, LCD screen and joystick. The charging receptacle and two inputs
for external buttons are located on the underside.
The control panel is used to switch the power wheelchair on and off, enter driving commands and display the cur­
rent status of certain functions and components.

Getting in from the front
1) Turn the control device off.
2) Fold the foot support up (see fig. 16).
INFORMATION: Removing the leg supports
increases the entry or exit area (see Page 21).
3) Have an attendant assist you or use a transfer lifter
to get into and out of the power wheelchair.
4) Fold the foot support down again.
Getting in from the side
To get in from the side, the right or left side panel cor­
responding to the entry side must be removed.
1) Bring the power wheelchair as close as possible to
where the user is sitting.
2) Turn the control device off.
3) Remove the side panel (see Page 20).
INFORMATION: If possible, always get in on the
side opposite the control panel.
4) If needed: Remove the leg supports (see Page 21).
NOTICE! Do not swing the leg supports out,
otherwise the front lights may be damaged.
5) Slide into the seat from the side. Using a transfer
board can make side transfers easier.
6) If needed: Reinstall the leg support (see Page 21).
7) Reinsert the side panel (see Page 20).
