13. TROUBLESHOOTING GUIDE

Excessive Vibrations
Motor Overheating
Excessive Noise
NOTE: In some working conditions, using this machine can be very loud and harmful to hearing.

OPERATION
Damaged chain or sprockets
Damaged bearing
Damaged or missing teeth
Bent drum shaft
Excessive flow through motor
Excessive workload causing
motor to stall
Damaged Chain
Damaged or missing Teeth
Worn bearing or sprocket
Incorrect Chain tension
No hydraulic flow
No hydraulic flow from skid steer
Drum is obstructed
Obstruction of sprocket key
Failure of hydraulic motor
Operation Section 4-24
Replace chain or sprocket.
Replace bearing.
Repair or replace teeth.
Repair or replace drum.
Reduce engine RPM.
Reduce ground penetration or ground
speed to reduce drum workload.
Replace chain.
Repair or replace teeth.
Replace bearing or sprocket.
Check chain tension and adjust as
necessary.
Check that all hoses are tight with no
leaks and that main hoses are fully
connected and locked in auxiliary ports.
Check that auxiliary hydraulics are
engaged from skid steer. Refer to skid
steer operator's manual for engaging
auxiliary hydraulics. Ensure sufficient
hydraulic fluid in skid steer reservoir.
Shut off skid steer engine and remove
obstruction.
Replace sprocket key.
Repair or replace motor.
