OPERATION
Possible Cause
Seized slip clutch.
Worn shear bolt hole.
Ground too hard.
Overloading drum.
Improper pivoting procedure.
Too much drawbar load.
Bolts not tightened sufficiently.
Bolts hole elongated or
oversized.
Locknut worn out.
Inadequate greasing.
Inadequate greasing.
Excessive load.
Improper adjustment.
Friction plates worn.
Oil on friction plates.

Remedy
Free up slip clutch and reset
spring height.
Replace shear yoke assembly.
Reduce depth.
Reduce PTO speed to approximately
400 RPM.
Refer to pivoting instructions and
repeat steps.
Adjust transport wheel or hitch clevis
to remove weight from hitch pole.
Tighten bolts to correct torque.
Rebuild or replace blade carrier.
Replace locknut.
Carefully follow greasing instructions

Machine is overloaded, reduce ground
speed & reduce depth
Adjust springs.
