  • Page 24 INTRODUCTION Your SRW800 is designed to windrow 2" to 25" rocks . The SRW800 windrower can also be used for reclaiming gravel from road sides. Check local regulations before operating on road ways. With proper maintenance as described in this manual, your SRW800 windrower will provide you with years of dependable service with a minimum of repairs.

    Use the correct hitch pins for the hitch category being used. For a Cat I hitch, 7/8” lower and 3/4” upper diameter hitch pins are used and Cat II hitches require 1-1/8” lower and 1” upper diameter hitch pins. SRW800 07/03 Assembly Section 3-2 © 2003 Alamo Group Inc.

    4 links from the drive chain. The different sprocket will change the drum RPM from 100 to 142, allowing for better reclamation. Consult your nearest Schulte dealer for further information. The windrower should never be operated on the center (crown) of the road as this will cause excessive wear of the hard surfacing on the teeth near the center of the drum.

    The horsepower required to operate the implement depends on several operating factors including terrain condition, operator experience, condition of the implement and tractor, and other factors. The recommended tractor HP for the SRW800 is 35-100 HP (30-60 kW). Operating the implement with a larger tractor will greatly increase the risk of damaging the implement.

    Use hand rails and steps when exiting the tractor. Be careful of your step and use extra caution when mud, ice, snow or other matter has accumulated on the steps or hand rails.     Use extreme caution when connecting the SRW800 to the tractor. The SRW800 should be securely resting at ground level with the parking jack foot. Place a block in front of and behind wheels to prevent the SRW800 from moving. Keep hands and feet out from under the SRW800 and clear of pinch points between the tractor and SRW800.

    OPERATION 5.1 Connecting the SRW800 A-Frame to the Tractor 1. Make sure the tractor is equipped with the correct PTO shaft. Change shafts if needed. 2. Shorten or remove the tractor drawbar to avoid interference when raising and lowering the implement.

    Never leave a disconnected hose end open and cap the tractor hydraulic outlet ports when not in use. If the tractor ports, SRW800 ports and hydraulic hose ends become contaminated, wipe clean with a rag before connecting.

    Before each implement use, a complete inspection and service is required to ensure the implement is in a good and safe working condition. Damaged and/or broken parts should be repaired and/or replaced immediately. To ensure the implement is ready for operation, conduct the following.     Always disengage the tractor differential lock when turning. When engaged the differential lock will prevent or limit the tractor from turning.
