Smoke Threshold Options
The Smoke Threshold options provide the mechanism to set the smoke obscuration trigger point for each
alarm level, and the ability to assign day or night thresholds to cater for different levels of activity in the
protected area during these times.
Refer to Section 5.6 for the default settings.
The Smoke Threshold configuration options are as follows:
Day Thresholds: The settings for day time smoke thresholds. The threshold and the delay are used

together to decide when to trigger the alarm condition.
Night Thresholds: The settings for night time smoke thresholds. The threshold and the delay are used
l
together to decide when to trigger the alarm condition.
Alarm Level - Day - Sector 1 through 4: The settings for day time alarm thresholds for each sector 1
l
through 4.
Alarm Level - Night - Sector 1 through 4: The settings for night time alarm thresholds for each sector
l
1 through 4.
Set all to Sector 1: Press this button to set all thresholds to the thresholds set for Sector 1.
l
Scanning – Sector Scan Time: The duration for which the detector examines the air for each sector
l
when scanning for alarms.
Scanning – Scan Delay: The length of time between the adaptive scan threshold being exceeded and
l
the detector starting to scan to determine the source of a fire.
Significant Smoke Change - Logging: The smoke change level at which an event is recorded in the
l
Event Log.
Significant Smoke Change - VESDAnet: The smoke change level at which a smoke status update is
l
output on VESDAnet.
Changeover:
l
Work Days: Select which days use both day and night thresholds. Night time thresholds are used if
l
a day is not selected.
Day / Night Changeover Time: The settings for the timing of the threshold changeover.
