Installing ISOFIX and i-Size child seat
securing systems

WARNING
For ISOFIX or i‑Size child restraint systems,
where the child is secured using the integra-
ted seat belt of the child restraint system, the
permissible gross weight of the child and the
child restraint system is 33 kg.
If the child together with the child restraint
system weighs more than 33 kg, ISOFIX or
i‑Size child restraint systems with integrated
seat belt no longer offer sufficient protection.
ISOFIX or i‑Size child seat securing systems
may be overloaded and will not be able to
restrain the child, for example, in the event of
an accident. This poses an increased risk of
injury or even fatal injury.
If the child together with the child restraint
system weighs more than 33 kg , only use
ISOFIX or i-Size child restraint systems with
which the child is secured with the vehicle
seat belt. Also secure the child restraint sys-
tem with the Top Tether belt, if available.
Always observe the specifications for the

weight of the child restraint system:
in the installation and operating instruc-

tions of the manufacturer of the child
restraint system which is used
on a label on the child restraint system, if
-
available
Check regularly that the maximum permissi-
ble gross weight of child and child restraint
system is still being maintained.
Children in the vehicle
When fitting a child restraint system, be sure to
observe the manufacturer's installation instruc-
tions and the instructions for correct use of the
child restraint system.
Before driving the vehicle, make sure that the
ISOFIX or i-Size child restraint system is cor-
rectly engaged in both i-Size securing rings.
Remove the cover of i‑Size securing ring :.

Install the i-Size or ISOFIX child restraint sys-

tem on both i-Size securing rings :.
After removing the child seat, replace the

respective cover of i‑Size securing ring :.
Securing Top Tether
Top Tether can reduce the risk of injury, since it
provides an additional connection between the
child restraint system secured with i-Size and
the vehicle.
The child restraint system must be equipped
with a Top Tether belt.

WARNING
If the loops at the top of the outer rear seats
are used for the Top Tether anchorage, the
child restraint systems will not be correctly
secured. In such cases, the child may, for
example, not be restrained correctly in the
event of an accident. There is an increased
risk of injury or even fatal injury.
Only use the loops on the centre rear seat for
the Top Tether anchorage. Never use the
loops on the outer rear seats, which are inten-
ded as a seat belt guide only.
Observe the labels behind the head restraints of
the corresponding rear seats when using the
loops.
