Activating and deactivating Lane Keep-
ing Assist

WARNING
Lane Keeping Assist cannot always clearly
detect lane markings.
In such cases, Lane Keeping Assist can:
issue an unnecessary warning

not issue a warning

There is a risk of an accident.
Always pay particular attention to the traffic
situation and keep within the lane, especially
if Lane Keeping Assist alerts you.

WARNING
The Lane Keeping Assist warning does not
return the vehicle to the original lane. There is
a risk of an accident.
Always steer, apply the brakes or accelerate
the vehicle yourself, especially if Lane Keep-
ing Assist alerts you.
Requirements
The driving speed exceeds 60 km/h.

If indicator lamp ; lights up, Lane Keeping
Assist is activated.

Traffic Sign Assist
Function of Traffic Sign Assist
Traffic Sign Assist detects traffic signs with mul-
tifunction camera : and assists you by dis-
playing detected speed limits and overtaking
restrictions in the instrument cluster. The cam-
era also detects traffic signs with a restriction
indicated by an additional sign (e.g. in wet con-
ditions).
System limitations
Traffic Sign Assist is only an aid and is not always
able to correctly display speed limits and over-
taking restrictions. The actual traffic signs
always have priority over the Traffic Sign Assist
display.
The system may be impaired or may inoperative
in the following situations:
if there is poor visibility, e.g. due to insuffi-

cient illumination of the road, if there are
highly variable shade conditions or in rain,
snow, fog or spray
if there is glare, e.g. from oncoming traffic,
R
direct sunlight or reflections
if the windscreen in the area of the multifunc-
R
tion camera is dirty, or if the camera is misted
up, damaged or covered
if the traffic signs are hard to detect, e.g. due
R
to dirt or snow, or because they are covered
or because of insufficient lighting
if the information in the navigation system's
R
digital map is incorrect or out-of-date
if the signs are ambiguous, e.g. traffic signs on
R
construction sites or in adjacent lanes
