Observe the following points. You could oth-
erwise damage the differential lock.
Do not engage the differential lock if the
R
drive wheels are spinning.
Engage the differential lock only when the
R
vehicle is stationary or when travelling at
walking pace.
Do not engage the differential lock while
R
depressing the accelerator or brake pedal.
Pull away slowly after engaging the differ-
R
ential lock. The differential lock teeth may
not be fully engaged.
Do not drive on high-grip surfaces with the
R
differential lock engaged.
Do not exceed a maximum speed of
R
50 km/h with the differential lock engaged.
Engaging the differential lock
Requirements:
the vehicle is stationary.
R
drive mode 4L is selected.
R
Press button :.

The indicator

If the indicator does not light up, let the vehi-
cle roll forward slightly.
Disengaging the differential lock

Refuelling

Refuelling the vehicle

WARNING
Fuel is highly flammable. Improper handing of
fuel creates a risk of fire and explosion.
Avoid fire, naked flames, smoking and creat-
ing sparks under all circumstances. Switch off
the engine and, if applicable, the auxiliary
heating before refuelling.

WARNING
Fuels are poisonous and hazardous to health.
There is a danger of injury.
Do not swallow fuel or let it come into contact
with skin, eyes or clothing. Do not inhale fuel
vapours. Keep fuels out of the reach of chil-
dren.
If you or others come into contact with fuel,
observe the following:
Wash the fuel off any affected areas of skin
R
with water and soap immediately.
If you get fuel in your eyes, rinse them thor-
R
oughly with clean water immediately. Seek
immediate medical attention.
If fuel is swallowed, seek immediate medi-
R
cal attention. Do not induce vomiting.
Change any clothing that has come into
R
contact with fuel immediately.

WARNING
Electrostatic charge can cause sparks and
thereby ignite fuel vapours. There is a risk of
fire and explosion.
Before you open the fuel filler cap or take hold
of the pump nozzle, touch the metallic vehicle
body. This discharges any electrostatic
charge that may have built up.
