Maintenance
Maintenance work on the WILDEN compressed air diaphragm pump P.025 in the Lubo-DryExx®, article no. 182831
Replacing seals:
With compressed air operated double diaphragm pumps, correctly installed seals are of
critical importance for the pump performance. Great care must be taken to ensure that the
seals are inserted into the correct groove and are not damaged during fitting. The pump
cannot run with seals fitted at the incorrect location. Damaged seals can result in reduced
output and shorter seal service life durations. The seal installation kit Ringer™, containing
a fitting tool and positioning tools, simplifies the fitting of seals into the pumps
General instructions for disassembly / assembly:
Prior to disassembly, draw a marking line from each pump chamber to the corresponding
air chamber. These marking lines simplify alignment of the parts during the reassembly
process.
1.
Use a wrench to remove both small clamping straps holding the discharge elbows
onto the pump chambers.
2.
Remove the discharge elbows to expose the valve balls and seats.
3.
Check the discharge elbows in the area of the ball cage for excessive wear and
damage.
4.
Remove valve balls, valve seats and o-rings of the outlet valve from the discharge
elbows and check for chips, scoring, chemical damage and friction wear.
5.
Replace worn parts with genuine Wilden parts to ensure reliable performance.
6.
Remove the small clamping straps holding the suction elbows to the pump
chambers.
7.
Remove the suction elbows to expose the valve balls and seats.
8.
Check the inlet valve ball cage for excessive wear and damage.
9.
Remove valve balls, valve seats and o-rings of the inlet valve from the suction
elbows and check for chips, scoring, chemical damage and friction wear.
10. Replace worn parts with genuine Wilden parts to ensure reliable performance.
11. Remove one of the two large clamping straps holding the pump chambers on the
centre block.
12. Remove the pump chamber from the centre block to expose the diaphragm and
external diaphragm plate.
13. Remove the diaphragm unit using an adjustable key.
14. Check the diaphragm unit and piston rod for wear and chemical corrosion.
15. Repeat these instructions for the other pump chambers.
The comprehensive instructions that apply for the compressed air control
system for your pump on disassembly/assembly, including diagrams, can be
found in the operating and maintenance instructions.
