WARNING
• For operation of the lift truck, the protective equipment
for the operator shall be dependent upon the conditions
of use and the applicable provisions of the local laws and
regulations.
• The working clothes worn by the operator shall be such
that sleeves and cuffs fit snugly so as to prevent them from
getting caught on lift truck levers, etc. Personal Protective
Equipment such as safety glasses, earmuffs, dust mask,
helmet (hard hat) and safety shoes should also be worn, as
required by the work environment, employer or local and
state regulations.

DAILY INSPECTION

!
• OSHA 1910.178 requires a daily or per shift inspection.
Inspect the lift truck before operating. Do not operate the
lift truck if it is in need of repair. If it is in need of repair, tag
the lift truck, remove the key (if equipped) and report the
condition to the proper authority. Do not attempt repair
unless you are trained and authorized to perform repairs
(refer to "Daily Inspection" on page 89 and "Operator's Daily
Checklist Sample" on page 91).
