Measures
Press Remote switch on front of controller or enter
remote mode in a manner described in "Safety /
Setup / Maintenance Guide".
Check connections with external equipment for
mis-connection, disconnection or contact failure
due to any loose connector.
Check for continuity using tester or the like.
Protect laser marker against noises as follows:
• Securely ground frame ground terminal of laser
marker or surrounding equipment.
• Isolate power and signal lines from each other
if they have been routed in parallel.
• Shield signal line.
• Isolate power supply for laser marker from
other equipment.
• Use noise cut transformer to absorb noises
from power supply.
For communication with external devices, select
either RS-232C or Ethernet port.
(They cannot be used at the same time, or
switched.)
The port selected in the environment setting
screen indicates the valid communication port.
RS-232C is selected at factory shipment.
Connect the RS-232C cable to "RS-232C"
connector on the rear of the controller.
• For RS-232C, use a commercially available
cross cable. (A straight cable cannot be used.)
Laser marker has three-wire connection. (Only
pins Nos. 2, 3 and 5 of RS-232C connector are
used.)
• For RS-232C connection, confirm the wiring
of the external device including the loop back
connection.
For Ethernet, check the followings:
• To use an external device and the laser marker
one to one, connect them with a commercially
available cross cable (STP cross cable of the
Category 5e or higher is recommended).
• To use an external device and the laser
markers one to many, prepare a hub or
router compliant to 1000BASE-T, 100BASE-
TX, or 10BASE-T and connect them with a
commercially available straight cable (STP
straight cable of the Category 5e or higher is
recommended).
• Match communication parameter settings to
external equipment. Communication parameter
settings of laser marker can be checked in the
environment setting screen.
• When using RS-232C, specify the "Flow
control" to "None" at the communication port
settings of the external control device.
