Blow bar
The blow bar mounted on the labeller under the stripping bar assembly is used to blow jets of air up
towards the applicator shoe when the label is being fed out. This flow of air aids the label onto the shoe
It is important to ensure the holes in the blow bar point at the correct angle to ensure correct direction or air
flow from the holes to guide the label onto the applicator shoe.
An inline restrictor is mounted in the rear of the Signature labeller to control the air flow of the blow
If the blow bar is too weak the label is not transferred to the receiver.
If the blow bar is too strong, the label can move excessively on the receiver.
Turn the air flow restrictor clockwise to close or counter-clockwise to open.
NOTE: When the HS blow applicator is fitted, a different blow bar is used to the one shown above. The
principle of getting the air flow correct remains the same. Refer to page 2-57 for information on the HS blow
