Operating the MSD from the GC control panel
This section only applies to the 5977B MSD. For earlier 5975/5977 MSD
models, refer to
(LCP)"on page 54.
The 7890B GC control panel can show the actual temperature and pressure of
the MSD or initiate a task on the MSD without using the Agilent OpenLAB
CDS software. You can access functions, such as venting and setting
temperatures, right from the GC control panel. Limited features are available
from the GC control panel. The OpenLAB CDS software is the full-featured
controller for most instrument control operations.

MS/Aux Det
key on the 7890B GC control panel allows access to control and
key in the procedures that follow.
Press MS/Aux Det to display the 5977B MSD menu.
Press the down arrow to scroll to Quad temp, Source temp or Transfer line.
Use GC keypad to enter the desired temperature.
